Privacy Policy

Proof ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Roots & Tails LLC, a New York limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Proof app.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (stored securely on our servers via Supabase).
• Baking and recipe data: Your starter logs, bake journal entries, and hydration calculations are stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults and are not transmitted to our servers.
• Location data: Your zip code is sent to Open-Meteo, a privacy-respecting open-source weather API, to provide local temperature and humidity data for fermentation guidance. We do not store your location.
• AI inputs: Text you enter into AI-powered features (such as the Dough Analyzer and Baker's Guide) is sent to the Anthropic API to generate responses. We do not store these inputs.

What We Do Not Collect

• We do not use any third-party analytics SDKs.
• We do not track your behavior across other apps or websites.
• We do not sell your data to any third party.
• We do not collect advertising identifiers.

Third-Party Services

Proof uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — for secure account authentication and storage.
• Anthropic API — to power AI features. Text inputs are processed per Anthropic's privacy policy.
• Open-Meteo — for weather data. Only your zip code is sent; no personal information is shared.
• Apple (StoreKit) — to manage Proof Pro subscriptions. Billing is handled entirely by Apple.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your account information is retained until you delete your account. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app: go to Profile → My Profile → Delete Account. Baking data stored locally on your device is removed when you uninstall the app.

Children's Privacy

Proof is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
